Imitations of nature
Guided by original perfection
For over 3,8 million years, nature has engineered structures which are perfectly suited to their purpose. The honeycomb structure, used by bees to store honey, exemplifies stability and optimal functionality. It has provided an excellent source of inspiration and was influential in the development of Honeycell fabrics.
Imitations of nature
We imitate the models, systems and elements of nature for the purpose of solving human problems. Our Honeycell fabrics are the perfect example of this imitation, called biomimicry.
Hexagonal compactness
Honey is stored by bees in hexagon-shaped cells because they are super strong and fit together perfectly without leaving gaps. In window coverings, a honeycomb fabric acts as a blanket with air pockets in front of the window.
